Utilizing data from IRENA – International Renewable Energy Agency, New Energy IQ evaluated how renewable energy’s share of electricity capacity has trended over the past two decades in global regions. The data indicates that South America’s renewable energy reliance is heavy while Africa and the Middle East are far behind other global regions due to limited infrastructure, reliance on traditional energy sources, or the common financial constraints associated with renewable energy projects.
